2027: APC Chieftain Urges South-East Women to Collect PVCs

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Princess Gloria Akobundu, has urged women in the South-East and across Nigeria to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Akobundu, who is the Secretary of the APC PCC Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians) and a member of the Women Mobilisation Wing, made the call in a statement issued in Awka.

Her appeal comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced nationwide PVC collection on October 9, 2026, for registrants from the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and earlier exercises.

According to INEC, collection is ongoing at Registration Area (RA) centres until October 15, after which it will continue at Local Government Area (LGA) offices.

Akobundu called on women voters, particularly in the South-East, to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sensitise their communities on federal government programmes.

“I urge women voters everywhere to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the consolidation of the good works already set in motion,” she said.

She listed interventions which she said have impacted women and youths, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which she said has recorded over 1.4 million registered students, more than 1.69 million loan applications, over ₦191 billion disbursed, and partnerships with more than 320 institutions.

She also cited expanded cash transfer programmes for vulnerable households, consumer credit schemes, infrastructure projects, and digital skills training initiatives.
